This award recognizes volunteers who have demonstrated in their community a significant and ongoing commitment to raising money for research and other mission-driven purposes.
Nominees from across the nation are considered for this award which will be presented at the Community Volunteer Leadership Conference in San Diego in June of this year.
We are very pleased to announce that this year Randy and Janeen Galloway will be the recipients of this prestigious award.

We would like to share with you a letter to the Galloways from John Griffin, Chair of the American Diabetes Association Board of Directors:
You have shown your commitment to the movement to Stop Diabetes through your outstanding leadership as honorary chairs of the Stars of Texas event for the past 14 years.
This event has consistently averaged $300,000 per year totaling $3.2 million since its inception-all to make life better for people with diabetes.
Randy’s willingness to promote this event and the mission of the American Diabetes Association on his radio show brings new support to the event and draws attention to the seriousness of this disease.
On behalf of the American Diabetes Association, we appreciate your hard work and dedication. You have set a stellar example for others to follow and we commend the contributions you are making to our mission
We look forward to honoring you at the 2011 Community Volunteer Leadership Conference in San Diego this June.
Randy and Janeen, congratulations on receiving this award. Your legacy of support has made a tremendous difference in the lives of so many people. We are so pleased to see you recognized by our entire organization for your wonderful efforts over the year to support our mission.
