2012 Tour de Cure a Huge Success!

This past Saturday the American Diabetes Association held its fifth annual Tour de Cure, a cycling fundraiser to help stop diabetes. The event has raised over $400,000 so far, said Britt Wolf, associate manager in charge of the event. Lockheed Martin donated a $106,178 check during closing ceremonies. About 1,200 cyclists peddled the 5-, 15-, 32-, or 62-mile routes.

“This year’s DFW Tour de Cure was a phenomenal success,” said Tour de Cure chair Jim Cadorette. “Our planning committee was driven and dedicated, not only to make the event safe and fun but also to raise awareness and work with sponsors and corporate donors to bring home the bucks. Our Red Rider team was our largest to date, headed by very some passionate leadership. The day’s event had plenty of energy and enthusiasm to go around. Everyone I spoke to can hardly wait for 2013.”

Tour de Cure sponsors include: Lockheed Martin – presenting sponsor, Pier 1 Imports, Chevrolet, Holmes Murphy, Cinemark, DDSI, My Fit Foods, Michelob Ultra, Ben E. Keith Distributors, Crazy Water.
