Who: Keller ISD & The American Diabetes Association
What: School Walk for Diabetes
Where: Keller ISD
600 North Pate-Orr Rd
When: Saturday, March 29, 2014
Why: Nearly 100 Keller ISD students suffer from type 1 diabetes along with an undetermined number of children at risk for type 2. Approximately 23.6 Americans have diabetes and more than 5 million of them do not even know they have the disease. By participating in School Walk for Diabetes, students at Keller ISD actively learn life-long lessons about preventing diabetes and helping others who have the disease.
Funds raised from School Walk for Diabetes will help further the mission of the American Diabetes Association: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
