Can Vitamin D Prevent Diabetes?

A major clinical trial, funded by the National Institutes of Health, is investigating whether vitamin D helps prevent or delay development of type 2 diabetes in persons who have Pre-diabetes.

If you have been diagnosed with Pre-diabetes, are  30 years of age or older, are overweight, have a family member with diabetes, or had diabetes during pregnancy you could be at risk for developing Type 2 diabetes.

If you think you may have Pre-diabetes and are interested in taking part in the D2d trial at UT Southwestern, please call 214-DIABETES (214-342-2383) or go on line at:  www.d2dstudy.org.
