When 15-year-old Nick Jonas was featured on the cover of the July 2008 issue of Diabetes Forecast, it had been less than three years since his type 1 diabetes diagnosis. At the time, as part of the Jonas Brothers, Nick owned the stage, singing and playing drums, guitar and piano while also still coming to terms with his diagnosis. On September 16, Nick turned 23. Once again, he’s on the cover of Diabetes Forecast, this time as part of the annual People to Know feature which highlights important people in the diabetes world.
Over the past years, Nick Jonas and his family have been active supporters and advocates of the American Diabetes Association. We’ve seen Nick promote the Association via various media outlets including an interview with Larry King, while his dad has been recognized with a Father of the Year award. As a performer, Nick continues to own the stage and has moved from boy band to solo artist and serious actor. His new album is coming out and his new tour is getting underway. Plus, he will be featured on two television shows this fall—the new season of Kingdom and a new show called Scream Queens.
Nick Jonas is all grown up and continuing his amazing career on stage and behind the camera, while living well with diabetes. Happy 23rd Birthday, Nick!
