Here at the American Diabetes Association North Texas we not only talk the talk, we walk the walk … literally. North Texas staff in Dallas hosted a walk and handed out apples for breakfast on Wednesday May 4, National Don’t Sit Get Fit Day to people four buildings managed by Boxer Properties. Don’t Sit Get Fit Day is a nationwide Wellness Day that draws attention to the importance of getting up and moving at work and at home as part of a healthy lifestyle.
The American Diabetes Association recommends that everyone, including people with diabetes, get up and move every 90 minutes. Companies, organizations and communities can play an important role by encouraging their employees and members to be active and take better care of themselves—while lowering their risk for type 2 diabetes.
